Annual Progress Reviews

The BSO, like all public authorities, have to report to the Equality Commission every year on the implementation of our equality scheme. This includes progress on actions outlined in our equality action plan. A template is used to report on progress each year to allow for comparability and assessment of the effectiveness of Section 75 duties. We also include anything else we have done to promote equality of opportunity and good relations that wasn’t included in our equality action plan.

Public authorities also need to complete an annual progress report on implementation of their disability action plans. This report includes what the BSO has done to implement our disability action plan measures, and how effective these measures have been. It also includes any other steps to promote positive attitudes towards disabled people and encourage their participation in public life that were not outlined in our disability action plan.
