BSO ITS is responsible for the provision of a wide range of ICT services across the HSC, HSC regional Arms-Length bodies and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS). These services range from the routine support of large, complex clinical, business and social care systems to the procurement and implementation of large projects/programmes supporting the ongoing modernisation and transformation of Health Care in Northern Ireland. ITS supports over 80,000 users across nearly 300 systems and is responsible for annual ICT expenditure of around £60 million.

Job Title: Band 5 – Project Support (open to students due to qualify summer 2025) – BSO ITS and equip programme

We are recruiting to create a waiting list for Permanent / Temporary / Full time / Part time Project Support Band 5 (open to students due to qualify summer 2025) posts based within Information Technology Services (ITS) / Equip Directorate’s BSO which may become available over the next 12 months based within Belfast City Centre / Gransha, Park House, Clooney Road, Derry/Londonderry / NIFRS HQ, Seymour Street, Lisburn.

Salary: Band 5 (Starting £29,970. After 2 years – £32,324. After 3 further Years £36,483 per annum pro rata)

Job Summary:

The post holder will be involved in delivering Project Implementation, Quality Assurance and Analysis and System Administration Services across a range of functions to support HSC business processes. Services will be delivered to support the use of ICT in one or more of the following business areas: Business Systems; Infrastructure and Architecture; Integration, Data Warehousing and New systems development; Community Social Services and Primary Care; Secondary Care; eHealth Projects.

Salary: Band 6 (Starting £37,338. After 2 years – £39,404. After 3 further years £44,962 per annum pro rata)

Job Summary:

BSO ITS Infrastructure is the base of all systems and applications in HSCNI. This team manage large scale and complex data centres and their components including server platforms, storage and networking services. They also ensure the availability, resilience and security of the data centres.

Job Summary:

The post holder will work as part of a team of software developers in the creation of high quality software within agreed project deadlines. Working under the direction of the Technical Specialist and Team leader, the post holder will be responsible for the design, implementation and developer-level test of various software components, ensuring that code takes into account security, scalability, compatibility and maintainability. The post holder will be responsible for delegating work to developers, providing technical guidance as required and monitoring the progress of their work.
