BSO ITS is responsible for the provision of a wide range of ICT services across the HSC, HSC regional Arms-Length bodies and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS). These services range from the routine support of large, complex clinical, business and social care systems to the procurement and implementation of large projects/programmes supporting the ongoing modernisation and transformation of Health Care in Northern Ireland. ITS supports over 80,000 users across nearly 300 systems and is responsible for annual ICT expenditure of around £60 million.

We are recruiting to create a waiting list for Permanent / Temporary / Full time / Part time Operations Support (GMS ICT) Band 5 posts based within Information Technology Services (ITS) Directorate, BSO which may become available over the next 12 months based within Belfast City Centre or Gransha, Park House, Clooney Road, Derry/Londonderry. Salary: Band 5 (Starting £29,970. After 2 years – £32,324. After 3 further Years £36,483 per annum pro rata)

Job Summary:
The Business Services Organisation (BSO) provides a broad range of ICT services to HSC Organisations. The ICT services are required to provide the on-going delivery of business and clinical functions across the HSC and to deliver and support a range of projects aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of services to patients and clients. BSO Information Technology Services (ITS) currently has approximately 300 ICT staff. General Medical Services (GMS) ICT Operations Support officers will work across a range of ICT including: systems/application maintenance and troubleshooting, asset management, systems specification, systems integration, system implementation and procurement of equipment and services, providing ICT related investigation, advice and guidance to customers. GMS ICT Operations Support officers may also be part of short or long term project teams, either directly delivering services or working with commercial providers to implement projects.

Job Summary:
The Postholder will take lead responsibility for the design, integration, management and delivery of highly complex and novel technical deliverables across a wide range of internal and external application areas and stakeholders. The Postholder will provide expert technical advice across the range of areas impacted by the Major Programme to include networks, regional data centres, cybersecurity services, virtualized environment, cloud architecture, identity management and access controls, managed internet access, infrastructure, integration, data migration and healthcare interoperability.Will be required to provide expert services to a number of programmes or projects at any one time depending on programme needs
