BSO ITS is responsible for the provision of a wide range of ICT services across the HSC, HSC regional Arms-Length bodies and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS). These services range from the routine support of large, complex clinical, business and social care systems to the procurement and implementation of large projects/programmes supporting the ongoing modernisation and transformation of Health Care in Northern Ireland. ITS supports over 80,000 users across nearly 300 systems and is responsible for annual ICT expenditure of around £60 million.

Job Title: Band 7 Operations Service Manager (Cloud Services)- BSO ITS

We are recruiting to create a waiting list for Permanent / Temporary / Full time / Part time Operations Service Manager (Cloud Services) Band 7 posts based within Information Technology Services (ITS) Directorate, BSO which may become available over the next 12 months based within Belfast City Centre Location / NIFRS HQ, Seymour Street, Lisburn.

Salary: Band 7 (Starting £46,148. After 2 years – £48,525. After 3 further Years £52,809 per annum pro rata)

Job Summary:

The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of cloud technologies, ensuring their availability, reliability, scalability, security, and license compliance. With key activities of monitoring, troubleshooting issues, implementing solutions to optimize service delivery and optimisation\design of business solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.Additionally, the postholder will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency. Your strategic vision will guide the development and execution of operational strategies to support business growth and maintain a competitive edge in the dynamic cloud services market. Overall, your focus will be on delivering exceptional service experiences while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.

Job Title: Band 8a Senior Database Administrator – BSO ITS

We are recruiting to create a waiting list for Permanent / Temporary / Full time / Part time Senior Database Administrator Band 8a posts based within Information Technology Services (ITS) Directorate, BSO which become available over the next 12 months based within Belfast City Centre Location.

Band 8a (Starting £53,755. After 2 years – £56,454. After 3 further Years £60,504 per annum pro rata)

Job Summary:

The Postholder will take lead responsibility for the management and delivery of a range of Database Administration (DBA) functions across all BSO ITS delivered services. The Postholder will provide a specialist IT service which focuses on database technologies, primarily Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, on behalf of ITS and the wider Health and Social Care (HSC) community in Northern Ireland. The Postholder will lead a team of specialist DBA staff dedicated to the development and support of the Database Administration functions.
