It is extremely important that we recognise our colleagues who work in screening and registration. Like many collagues in BSO FPS they quietly and significantly make a difference to so many lives across Northern Ireland. Thank you all for the work you do.

On International Women’s Day, BSO FPS celebrate the women who make up 51% of our Family Practitioner Service—and the extraordinary difference they make to HSC every single day.
Whether supporting patients directly, ensuring primary care services run smoothly, or maintaining the digital systems that keep practices connected and operational, their talent, compassion, and professionalism underpin the quality of care across our service.
Colleagues have said:
“I’m proud to contribute to a health service where women across all roles help strengthen our systems and improve outcomes for the patients we serve.”
“Our teams play a vital role in improving the health and well being of patients by developing and maintaining electronic application processes that enhance services and by ensuring systems remain connected and uninterrupted.”
We are also proud to recognise the incredible commitment of women across our teams—some with over 47 years of service—whose experience and dedication continue to shape and strengthen the Family Practitioner Service.
Thank you for the impact you make—today and every day.
