About the BSO

The Business Services Organisation (BSO) is a Non-Departmental Public body (ALB) which was established on 1st April 2009 to provide a wide range of business support functions and specialist professional services to the wider Health and Social Care (HSC) sector in Northern Ireland.

BSO provides a wide range of high quality services to 18 Organisations within the Health and Social Care system, including the HSC Trusts and the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service.

BSO is made up of 5 Directorates:

  • The Directorate of People and Place
  • The Directorate of Operations
  • The Directorate of Strategic Planning and Customer Engagement (SP&CE)
  • The Directorate of Finance
  • The Directorate of Digital

Our people are central to everything that we do and integral to the operation of BSO. Without our people offering the skills, knowledge and expertise that they do, our services would not be delivered to the standard it currently is, and our Health & Social Care system would not be able to function.

This is why we strive to value, support and invest in you, to ensure that we successfully work together to fulfil our vision and deliver for people in Northern Ireland.

BSO Vision: “Making delivery of health and social care possible”
