Procurement and Logistics Service works collaboratively with a number of other Public Sector Organisations across the United Kingdom. This collaboration is aimed at delivering improved value for money for customers and identifying and sharing best practice in our services among supplies and procurement professionals.

Procurement and Logistics Service have strong links with similar supplies organisations in England, Scotland and Wales.

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership provides a procurement and materials management service to the National Health Services in Wales.

National Procurement Scotland provides logistics and procurement services to the National Health Service in Scotland.

Procurement and Logistics Service works with procurement professionals from NHS Wales, NHS Scotland and Crown Commercial Services (formerly Buying Solutions) through formal liaison groups to:

  • Share best practice; understand and assist the procurement strategies of each organisation;
  • Collaborate on specific contracts to aggregate requirements; and work together on initiatives such as benchmarking and e-procurement.

In addition to the collaborations with other Health Service and National Procurement Bodies, Procurement and Logistics Service also works formally with the Northern Ireland Public Sector through a “Procurement Practitioners Group” coordinated by Central Procurement Directorate.

Procurement and Logistics Service also collaborates with NHS Supply Chain, a private sector organisation contracted to provide procurement and logistics service to the NHS in England.
