Health and Care Numbers

From 11th June 2014, any patient who wishes to claim partial or full help towards their eye care must provide their optometry/opticians practice with their Health and Care Number, in accordance with MOS 280. To view this MOS please click here.

Patients can click here to request a new medical card from BSO. To view the Health and Care Number poster (version 2.0 issued January 2015) showing more information about obtaining a Health and Care Number, please click here. This can be saved, and copies can be printed if required.

The Department of Health is looking for an experienced Optometrist to lead the Ophthalmic Committee of the Business Services Organisation (“the BSO”).
