On Thursday 12 June the Business Services Organisation (BSO) Leadership Centre staff, Maura McMackin and Associate Marie Roulston, OBE were delighted to host the final showcase of the current Regional Leading Social Work programme, at Lisburn Civic Centre.
This event involved 6 panels of senior Social Work staff from across Northern Ireland Health and Social Care’s statutory, voluntary and community sector as well as probation and education stakeholders, who expertly worked collaboratively to assess presentations arising from the two 24/25 cohorts (cohort 9 and 10).
In all, 50 emerging social work leaders completed this Northern Ireland Social Care Council Personal Improvement Plan (PiP) accredited program and were awarded 3 Leadership and Strategic Professional (PiP) requirements. It is anticipated most will go on to achieve their full award over the next 12 months, thereby contributing to succession planning and collective leadership within this profession.
This event also marked Marie Roulston stepping back from her co-delivery role on the programme and the group was delighted to recognised Marie’s dedicated input since October 2021. The Leadership Centre will deliver 2 new cohorts commencing in October 2025 and the 25/26 nominations are out now and closing 22/09/2025.
