Vicky is the BSO Performance & Improvement Manager in the SPACE Directorate

Introduce yourself and your role

I’m Vicky Gunning and I’m the Performance and Improvement Manager within the Strategic Planning and Customer Engagement Directorate. My role is to provide support to our 21 service areas and our customer organisations, driving improved performance across HSCNI.

 

• How long you have worked in BSO

I joined BSO in July 2025, so I’ve now been here for nine months. I applied for this role because I wanted to use my experience to make a meaningful difference in my local community. Working within Health and Social Care has given me the opportunity to support services that directly impact lives across Northern Ireland, and that’s something I’m genuinely passionate about.

 

• How you feel you make a difference to HSC?

I feel I make a difference to HSCNI by acting as a trusted advisor to our service areas. My work focuses on helping teams enhance how they operate so they can continue delivering essential services that make health and social care possible in Northern Ireland. I also collaborate closely with our customer organisations to ensure their needs are understood and met, building strong partnerships that support continuous improvement across the system.
