Congratulations to Eilish Meehan (HSC Demographics Manager) on her recent MBE

20 June 2026

Congratulations to Eilish Meehan, Health and Social Care (HSC) Demographics Service Manager at the Business Services Organisation (BSO), who received her MBE for Services to Healthcare from Princess Anne at a reception in Windsor Castle on Tuesday 9 June.

Eilish was recognised in the 2026 Kings New Years’ Honours List for her work in demographics and for championing those under-represented in the Health and Social Care (HSC) system, including Trans-gender patients, homeless patients and adoptive parents.

“I was honoured to receive an MBE for Services to the Health Service from Anne, The Princess Royal at Windsor Castle last Tuesday.  It was a lovely sunny day and my family and I enjoyed the opulent surroundings of the many different rooms in the castle.

The Princess Royal was very interested in hearing of the services the BSO delivers to the HSCNI.  She commented on how delighted she was to acknowledge the contribution that BSO staff make to patients care in presenting me with an MBE”. ~ Eilish Meehan.

On her return to work, Eilish was greeted with a homemade MBE cake and a party in her honour from her colleagues within Northern Ireland Digital Identity Service (NIDIS) and BSO Directorate of Digital.

A wonderful acknowledgement for your hard work and dedication to Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland.

Congratulations from all your colleagues in BSO.
