Bowel Cancer Screening Programme is Expanding

1 November 2026

From 2 November 2026, the Northern Ireland Bowel Cancer Screening Programme will begin inviting people aged 59, with 58-year-olds joining from April 2027 as part of a phased expansion to include everyone aged 50-74 by 2031.

Business Services Organisation (BSO) Family Practitioner Services (FPS) is proud to play a vital role through the programme’s call and recall service, helping ensure eligible people receive their invitations at the right time and can access potentially life-saving screening.

It’s a great example of how FPS quietly makes a big impact every day, supporting early detection, better outcomes and healthier communities across Northern Ireland.
