Within Northern Ireland we are currently working towards zero greenhouse gas emission by 2050 in line with The Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022.
BSO Logistics have been working in the background to explore how we will transition our fleet to electric or alternative fuels and how to make the best efficiencies for BSO and the Northern Ireland public.
Within Logistics we have a mix of caddy vans, 3.5 tonne, 10 tonne, 12 tonne and 18 tonne vehicles but currently the Northern Ireland market is relatively new to the alternative fuel industry and electric HGV’s, so innovation is key in order to meet these targets.
In preparation for this we have been trialling different van size electric vehicles in both Campsie and Boucher from a variety of different manufacturers such as Ford, Mercedes and Fiat.
