As April was Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we at BSO wanted to share how our colleagues in Family Practitioner Services (FPS)… #MakeADifference

The Family Practitioner Services (FPS) are responsible for the call/recall function of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme on behalf of the Public Health Agency (PHA)

Colin is the Bowel Cancer Screening Team Lead in @BSO Family Practitioner Services (FPS). Colin and his team are responsible for sending out invites and reminders to eligible participants in the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.

Colin and his team provide a range of services to participants including sending test kits, informing patients of results and operating a free phone helpline, offering support to participants with various enquiries and booking pre-assessment appointments.

Colin is the main contact for lab staff who process the test kits and for the specialist screening nurses across the trusts. Colin’s role involves regularly updating participant data to ensure they all end up on the correct pathway or receive the correct future recall date.
