The HSC Clinical Education Centre (CEC) was delighted to welcome customers and commissioners to a Customer Engagement Event on 3rd October 2023. The theme for the event was Innovation and Collaboration, reflecting the strategic context of the current challenges facing the Health and Social Care (HSC). This was an opportunity to showcase examples of innovative work that CEC has been leading in education delivery and to offer an interactive opportunity to CEC’s customers for learning, discussion and feedback on further service improvement.

Maria McIlgorm, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Northern Ireland gave the opening address, highlighting the valuable contribution that CEC make in delivering a diverse range of post registration education programmes to nurses, midwives and AHPs and the strategic importance of CEC as a vital HSC education provider. The CNO commended the CEC team for their responsiveness and adaptability and for the excellent work they do in designing, developing and delivering education to support the delivery of safe, effective care.

The customers who attended, valued the opportunity to learn of the innovative approaches CEC has taken to enhance teaching and digital capability through the development of online resources, simulated learning and asynchronous eLearning provision. Going forward CEC will build on these innovations and continue to strengthen collaborative partnerships and embrace opportunities to widen access for more multi-professional learning across the HSC workforce.
