JOB SUMMARY
- Encompass is a service function within the Digital Directorate in the Business Services Organisation delivering to BSO and its regional customers. The Assistant Director (AD) of Encompass is a key leadership role with individual and functional responsibility for driving and managing the successful delivery of a complex suite of clinical systems to HSC customer organisations.
The role will provide expert professional management of nearly two hundred professional staff to manage key clinical systems and the related support services. - The Assistant Director will take primary lead across all remaining phases of the transformation project which has an overall budget of £250 million and covered a timescale of 5 years in phase 1 (completed in May 2025), during which phase 2 (further 5 years) will be further defined.
- The post holder will be expected to be a senior qualified IT practitioner with extensive experience in the field displaying in-depth professional knowledge of a range of areas including IT Operations, Clinical systems, Programmes and Projects, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, financial and budgetary management, third-party vendor and contract management, Technology, Communications and telephony, and Data warehouse/analytics. They will be regarded as an expert advisor in all matters relating to regional IT provision and must be able to demonstrate extensive experience gained in these areas.
