Welcoming Our New HSCNI Graduate Trainees: Growing our Future Leaders…
On Monday, September 2nd, the HSC Leadership centre staff welcomed 12 talented graduates, marking the beginning of their exciting two-year journey on the scheme. Each trainee is following a specialised pathway designed to accelerate their career, with specialisms ranging from Human Resources and Organisational Development, General Management, to Procurement and Logistics, Accountancy, Information Technology and Encompass.
A Flying Start: The Cook’s Tour Induction
Before getting into the heart of their placements, the graduate trainees began their journey with a comprehensive two-week induction- a fast-paced, engaging introduction to the complex world of Health and Social Care (HSC), designed to help our future leaders settle in quickly and build a strong foundation for the challenges ahead.
Week one kicked off with essential mandatory training, ensuring that our graduates meet the high standards expected of all HSC staff. But it wasn’t all work and no play! There were plenty of opportunities for them to network, connect with peers, and hear first-hand insights from trainees already in their second year of the scheme.
A highlight of the week was a panel discussion featuring former graduate trainees who have since risen to key leadership roles, including Chief Executives and Directors. These inspiring individuals generously shared their experiences, giving our new recruits a glimpse into the potential career paths ahead.
Week two took the graduates out of the classroom and into the field, introducing them to the vital roles played by HSC Trusts and Arm’s Length Bodies. They gained a deeper understanding of the breadth and diversity of HSC services.
Supporting the Next Generation
Our graduate trainees commenced their first placements on the 16 September. If you or someone you know is interested in joining this dynamic program, we’re excited to announce that recruitment for the 2025 intake will begin in January. Keep an eye out for further details!
