NHS Celebrates 75 Years

8 July 2023

Guest of honour at the NHS 75 event in Stormont was six-year-old transplant waiting list patient Daithi Mac Gabhann who inspired a change in the organ donation laws in Northern Ireland. BSO Chair Julie Erskine takes a moment to congradulate Daithi on his achievment.

Earlier this month, staff across HSC celebrated 75 years of our NHS. Staff were invited to mark the occasion in various ways, such as wearing blue and taking part in parkrun events across the UK (including N.I.) on Saturday 8 July.

This was a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and be active outdoors, while recognising and celebrating the incredible contribution of our health service.

Above and below are some photographs from the day. Cake and ‘NHS blue’ balloons were thoroughly enjoyed and a number of BSO staff took part in parkruns across the country.
