We are delighted to announce that Paddy Breen, Programme Manager for the Blood Production (BPaT) and Tracking Project and Primary Care Ordercomms, won an Outstanding Leadership Award at the 2023 Advancing Healthcare Awards Northern Ireland.The winners of the awards were announced at a ceremony organised by Chamberlain Dunn on Thursday 12 October 2023 at the Stormont Hotel, Belfast.

Paddy has worked tirelessly to lead and direct the BPaT Project through the procurement process and has shown exemplary leadership throughout – he is fully deserving of this award.

The BPaT Project will introduce a ‘vein to vein’ electronic traceability system from blood donation to final fate for all donations across HSCNI. This will deliver benefits such as improved patient safety, enhanced processes for staff, improved donor experience, and a modernised blood supply chain for Northern Ireland.
