In September, Payroll Service Centre (PSC) held an event to celebrate 10 years in business. Since inception, Payroll has moved from processing based on payroll functions to delivery of an end to end payroll service across the teams. Across a year, the team now delivers around 1.5 million payments across weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay frequencies. In the 10 years since go-live the centre has seen many changes and improvements to support continued high levels of service and adaptions needed in response to the Covid pandemic.

The 10th birthday celebration was to celebrate all of our achievements over the last 10 years, as well as to congratulate those members of the team who have been here since the start!

We also welcomed Philip Cass, the Group National ACT Manager from The Payroll Centre. The Payroll Centre is a large training provider that specialise in Payroll. Phil provided a detailed introduction to a learning tool provided by The Payroll Centre called the ‘ACT assessment’. This tests the users knowledge on payroll legislative subjects in order to provide a gap analysis and tailor a learning program for individual users. We intend to use this program to create a gap analysis for Payroll Service Centre to help us plan and implement future training endeavours.

Our Payroll Mission Statement includes our desire to ‘be a centre of excellence’. In July this year, PSC was awarded accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals and it was wonderful to celebrate this significant achievement with the team. This highlights the hard work and dedication of the teams in achieving this centre of excellence status and the team were congratulated on their work to deliver this milestone.
