Permanent Secretary, Peter May visits NIPACS+

On Tuesday 20th August 2024 the Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health, Mr Peter May visited the NIPACS+ Programme to acknowledge and thank the team and staff for all they have achieved.

Mr May visited the Royal Victoria Hospital where the Northern Ireland Picture Archiving and Communication System (NIPACS+) Programme team, which recently went live with multiple imaging specialities, including Cardiology, Obstetrics, Endoscopy, Dental, Ophthalmology and Medical Photography.

On his tour, Mr May visited Cardiology, the Echo Lab and the Radiology Department where he met with the teams who implemented the Programme. He thanked staff for their crucial role in the Programme, during a time when great transformation and change was already underway.

Everyone involved in the successful implementation and roll-out of NIPACS+ deserves to be very proud of the significant work carried out to date, which will support future digital developments across HSCNI and further enhance patient care.
