PG Diploma in Health and Social Care Leadership and Management – Educating and Developing leaders and managers within Health and Social Care.
- Purpose – The programme aims to equip students with knowledge, tools and approaches that will support and develop them further in their roles, helping them to bring innovative improvements to their service. The programme is also an opportunity to network with other health care professionals working in a range of different roles. Students are supported through LearnHSCNI, supplied with core text books, face to face tutorials and a range of invited expert speakers.
- Accreditation – The Post Graduate Diploma is an Ulster University validated programme of study, supported by the School of Applied Social and Policy Sciences. This is also an accredited programme for Social Work, which offers an opportunity to gain 6 Leadership and Strategic Award requirements from NISCC. Successful students completing the Diploma may progress to the third year of the Masters in Public Administration (MPA).
- Entry Requirements – Applicants must hold a degree or equivalent or demonstrate their ability to undertake the course through prior experiential learning. Have at least 3 years appropriate management experience at Band 6 or above, and provide evidence of competence in written or spoken English (GCSE grade C or equivalent).
- Audience – Middle and Senior Managers working within the public, private and voluntary HSC sector. This includes clinicians and professionals with managerial responsibility, social work managers and managers throughout HSC support functions.
- Course Fees and Funding – The course fees = 3.25MD places per year if funded via the Service Level Agreement or £3692 (subject to change). Funding is at the discretion of the student’s employing organisation. Please note numbers on this programme are limited.
