The following report – Sodium Valproate & Topiramate Monitoring Statistics to March 2026 has been published as part of the General Pharmaceutical Services and Prescribing Statistics for Northern Ireland publication schedule. This report, produced in accordance with the Code of Practice for Statistics, contributes to the monitoring of the effectiveness of actions to ensure safe and appropriate use of prescribed Sodium Valproate and Topiramate in Northern Ireland.
This quarterly series combines the previously separate reports of Sodium Valproate and Topiramate monitoring into a singular release, with two sets of tables and a single interactive dashboard and can be accessed on the BSO website by clicking on the following link: Sodium Valproate & Topiramate Monitoring – Business Services Organisation (BSO) Website
The Sodium Valproate and Topiramate Monitoring Dashboard, published for the first time in May 2026, presents the figures of the five indicators contained within the published tables in interactive visuals, in an updated format to the previous separate dashboards for each medicine. Replacing the charts that had previously been published within each report, this interactive dashboard allows users to easily select between medicine of interest and numerous variables in order to focus on specific areas of interest, such as age group, gender or area in each of the five indicators.
