The BSO BPaT Project is leading the way in the development of a unique and very exciting regional transformational project spanning both Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (NIBTS) and NI Hospital Trusts.
Rolling out from summer 2026, this regional electronic ‘vein to vein’ donor management, blood production and tracking system will bring real benefits to donors.
We caught up with regular donor, Padraic Tunney at a recent BSO Blood Drive to hear his thoughts on what impact BPaT will have for donors like himself.
He highlights how the introduction of the BPaT donor webportal will save time by streamlining health checks, which could also mean you’re less likely to be turned away on the day.
