Background:
On Wednesday 30th August the project team received approval from the CoreLIMS Project Board to have a phased approach to go-live with Core LIMS.
The new WinPath Enterprise System will go-live with Blood Sciences, Microbiology and New Born Screening in BHSCT.
On the build-up to the Belfast Go Live, the Senior Management Team from the BSO Digital Operations Directorate visited the BHSCT Labs earlier to experience first-hand the system that the #CoreLIMS Project will be replacing with the new WinPath Enterprise solution.

Robbie Wilson (Histopathology Discipline Manager) began the tour in the Cellular Pathology Lab where tissue is examined and analysed. The Senior Management Team then moved to the Processing Lab to see the state-of-the-art machinery, responsible for the batch processing of tissue.
The group then explored the bustling Digital Pathology Lab where tissue slides are created, photographed and digitalised.

It was an eye-opening experience to see these Labs in action. The professionalism and passion of the staff is evident, and the efficiencies that will be introduced with the new WinPath system, will revolutionize how results are processed.
