BSO NIDIS Programme win’s Belfast Telegraph Best Public Sector IT Project
12 November 2023
The Northern Ireland Digital Identity Service (NIDIS) Programme won the Belfast Telegraph Best Public Sector IT Project on Friday 10th November 2023 at the Mac Theatre, Belfast.
This is a significant recognition for the BSO NIDIS team and for the software foundation’s they have implemented to support all the other Digital Programmes delivered this week, including the encompass programme, the CoreLIM Project and the NIPACS+ Programme.
Programme Manager Dermot Boyle of the NIDIS Programme manager and his colleagues, have had to switch over almost a thousand users to the new NIDIS Patient Viewer and around 60 applications connecting through via the new APIs we’ve exposed at the same time.
To date NIDIS has dealt with 265,000 of inbound messages, and has produced 812,000 cleansed and validated messages and has generated over 500 Health and Care Numbers for infants born in the last week and many thousands of patient searches across Northern Ireland.
Significantly for the NIDIS team, they established the links to #encompassNI established so they are all good for go-live, with the support from DXC Technology and Expleo.
On Friday at the Belfast Telegraph IT Awards, the programme was the recognised winner in the Best Public or Third Sector IT Project category for their roll-out of a new £12m #NIDIS electronic patient record system, which the judges said was “no mean feat”.
Well done to all of our BSO colleagues and stakeholders who helped to deliver the NIDIS Programme.
